Both men and women suffer from areas of fat that don’t really respond to diet and exercise. This can be frustrating and harm your self-esteem when you can’t get the body you really want, no matter what you do. Liposuction may be the answer. Dr. Leslie Smith of Sapphire Advanced Aesthetics discusses her techniques for liposuction in Plymouth, MN, and if it’s the right choice for you.
Liposuction was a revolutionary procedure that was developed in the 1980s. But it’s come a long way since then. The traditional liposuction in Minneapolis is rarely used anymore. These updated twists allow people to have better recovery and less downtime after the procedure.
At Sapphire Advanced Aesthetics, we specialize in Nutational Infrasonic Liposculpture (N.I.L.), also known as Tickle Lipo. This is one of the most updated liposuction techniques available and is minimally invasive. It uses low-frequency acoustic vibration to get rid of that pesky body fat, but it doesn’t harm any of the surrounding tissues.
For Tickle Lipo, the procedure can all be done under just local anesthesia. A very small incision is made and a micro-cannula is used. This is much smaller than what’s used in traditional liposuction. With the technology Dr. Smith uses, the cannula vibrates and rotates. This helps to break apart the fat, making it easier to suction out of your body.
Tickle Lipo can be used to treat just about any area of the body you’re having issues with. The area can be as large or as small as you want. You get to see immediate results as well. The tone and shape of the areas that were treated look and feel better than they did before. Because Tickle Lipo also tightens skin, it can help the appearance of cellulite as well, even though it isn’t specifically designed for this purpose.
The side effects and recovery for Tickle Lipo are very mild. Typically, you’ll only have some mild swelling and bruising around the treatment area. You’ll also have a bit of tenderness around there as well. You should be able to get up and move around right after your treatment is finished. Many people can return to work within a few days. If a larger area was treated, recovery may take a little bit longer.
Before any cosmetic procedure, you’ll have a consultation with Dr. Smith. She’ll talk to you about your goals and what you’re hoping to see with the final results. Your medical history will also be reviewed to ensure you’re in proper health and able to get the procedure. The ideal patient will have normal body weight but struggle with fat that you can’t get rid of. You’ll have to be in decent health as well.
